ITDS SHAKE OFF AUDITIONS 2026
Calling all thespians! Please complete the form if you would like to act in the Inner Temple Drama Society's ('ITDS') production for the Shake-Off this Spring 2026. 

Shake-Off is an annual competition between Inner Temple and Middle Temple. We stage a Shakespeare production on the same day and honourable judges will decide who wins the competition! All for fame, glory, and knowledge that the Bard was on your side.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please read the following information carefully.

The Production
  • The ITDS Shake-Off production will be 'The Taming of the Shrew'.
  • The script will be in 'Shakespearean English'. It will be a one hour production in Inner Temple Hall.
The Audition
  • It is open to all members of the Inner Temple.
  • You must live in London or be able to commute to London for the auditions, rehearsals, and production.
  • You are not expected to have any acting experience. All we ask is for you to bring your flare and your passion for the stage.
  • Roles are not restricted to gender. If the director(s) and producers believe you suit a role of the other sex, then it will be offered to you.
  • Auditions will be held in person at Inner Temple. Please let us know if you have any accessibility requirements.
  • We will send you an audition pack once you have signed up, and an audition slot on Sat 7th February 2026.
  • The audition pack contains 5 extracts of which we would like you to choose 2 for the audition. You are not expected to memorise the extract, but it would help if you were familiar with it.
The Professional Commitment
  • This is a professional commitment. Constant unreasonable absences and sudden quits near the production date will be notified to Inner Temple. At the end of the day, we are here to have fun and showcase our dramatic flare. But we must all commit to it.
  • You must be able to commit at least two evenings per week for rehearsals. 
  • Rehearsals are 18:30 - 20:30 every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. You will not be required to attend every day but please make sure you have at least have at least 2 evenings free on these days. 
  • You are expected to learn lines and choreography in your own time. Rehearsals are for polishing.
  • The date of the show is on Friday 22nd May 2026 from 6pm.
