Revere XR is an interactive storytelling platform recreating history to bring it to life using VR, AR, AI, MR, and XR. We are creating inclusive collaborations that include multiple generations, experiences, and lived experiences to demonstrate the power of community-designed immersive storytelling experiences. Revere XR is dedicated to bridging generational and technological gaps by engaging diverse communities.
This Black History Month, Revere XR and Seattle University are reimagining community storytelling through technology. This hackathon is a powerful platform for preserving the rich historical narratives of local Black-owned businesses in Seattle. By partnering with leading tech companies such as Niantic, NVIDIA, Unity, and Meta; we're empowering students, community members, and mentors to use cutting-edge technology as a tool for historical preservation and cultural celebration. More than a traditional hackathon, this event is a transformative experience that bridges technology, storytelling and community heritage. Join us in honoring Black History Month, amplifying local voices and creating innovative solutions that capture the enduring legacy of Seattle's Black entrepreneurial spirit.
Hackathon Description:
The primary goal of the Revere XR Hackathon, titled "Immersive Footprints," is to introduce participants to the world of augmented reality, showcasing its potential for preserving history and creating immersive experiences. Teams, comprising a balanced mix of youth, elders, and graduate students will work collaboratively through the design process. This setup exemplifies the power of inclusive teamwork, blending diverse perspectives and expertise. We aim to foster community engagement and inspire innovation through creative storytelling.
We welcome those who have never used the technology before; you do not need to have experience to participate in this hackathon. There is a limited number of seats for this event, so please submit this registration to participate. If the event is full, we will maintain a waitlist.
