Looking for a unique, non-competitive, highly interactive, STEAM afterschool experience for your children (ages 7-10) where they can experience history hands-on?

With our educators, students will be able to wear historical costumes, play original historical games, tour the exhibits, handle various historical artifacts that typically are viewed only behind glass displays in museums, and enjoy hands-on historical activities such as:

Hand crafting your own herbal tea blend
Carding wool
Candle dipping, and more!

Dates and Activities: On these Tuesdays from 4:00pm to 6:00pm

February 4, 2025: Pomander Balls

Create your own pomander ball as you learn the history of making fragrances.

February 11, 2025: The History of Tea

Use the herbs that American colonists had in their gardens to craft your own herbal tea.

February 25, 2025: How to Be an Archeologist: A Mock Archeology Activity

See if you can find artifacts such as musket balls and arrowheads in our mock dig site while understanding how real artifacts are discovered.

March 11, 2025: Growing Up on Long Island

Children will be making candles and carding wool to understand what it is like to be a child in the American colonies.

All sessions take place at The Bayles-Swezey House at The Three Village Historical Society located at 93 N. Country Road, East Setauket, NY 11755.

I grant permission to the Three Village Historical Society, its agents, and its employees the irrevocable and unrestricted right to produce photographs and video taken of my child, myself, and members of my family while at Time Travelers for any lawful purpose including publication, promotion, illustration, advertising, trade, or historical archive in any manner or in any medium by the Three Village Historical Society. I hereby release the Three Village Historical Society and its legal representatives from liability for any violation or claims relating to said images or video.

Furthermore, I grant permission to use the statements of my child, myself, or my family members given during an interview or evaluation with or without my name for the purpose of advertising and publicity without restriction to time limit or geographic area. I waive my right, my child’s rights, and my family’s rights to any and all compensation stemming from the use of these materials.
