Just picture this. ONE day. Over 100 GE employees. Community service focused on OUR school community. Volunteers committed to transforming our building by painting, cleaning, landscaping, organizing, etc...

I have shared that Washington has been chosen for GE Community Day this summer. If you are not familiar, GE partners with local school districts and volunteers their time to accomplish a variety of tasks chosen by the school. GE Day is scheduled for August 2nd this summer. Our staff has been finalizing a task list over the past several months and we have some big items on our list - redoing our staff lounge, creating a Makerspace, updating our entrances to the building, painting, murals, quotes, landscaping, to name just a few.

So far, our GE Team Leader has shared that there are around 125 GE employees confirmed to be at Washington on August 2nd. BUT, we could always use more volunteers as we have a long list of items to accomplish!

I can say that I have had first hand experience working in a school that has benefited from GE Day in the past and it is beyond overwhelming to see so many volunteers lending their talents and experiences.
