As we mention in our sign up, Organic farming is natural process and no two growing seasons are identical, predictable or controllable. What we plan and plant for, does not always come into fruition since many variables beyond our control (ex. climate, pests and disease) can impact our crops each year.
This year was a challenging season. The spring rains delayed many crops and increased disease pressure, and the summer drought added challenges as well. We faced major crop losses on strawberries, potatoes and sweet potatoes, and would have loved to see a longer season of cucumbers, and more summer broccoli. Here's hoping for more next year!
we would have hoped for less of: nothing! We're so glad to have had abundance of so many other crops--greens! tomatoes! peppers! basil! So much resilience despite challenges, thanks for joining us through this season.
