2016 Tailgate Recycling Volunteer Form

For several years, Ohio Stadium has been the largest stadium in the country to achieve zero waste status, which is diverting 90% or more of materials away from the landfill through recycling and composting efforts. Yet, with all the success Buckeyes have in the stadium, the recycling efforts outside in the tailgate lots can be drastically improved.

Volunteering to be a Zero Waste Educator will consist of educating fans about proper recycling techniques, minimizing and fixing recycling contamination, and distributing give-aways (pending funding) or sustainability surveys to fans. Additional tasks may include directing fans on which dumpster to place waste materials, assisting fans in moving full bags of recycling/trash, handing out flyers, and moving wheeled recycling containers. If we reach a critical mass of volunteers, other tasks/activities may be incorporated into the volunteer shift.

Let’s work together to make The Best Fans in the Land become The Best Recycling Fans in the Land!

More information will be sent closer to each game with information on where to meet.
