Youth Acting Ensemble Application 2019
Our fun, challenging and comprehensive Acting training ensembles are devoted to enhancing young actors’ skills through working on the greatest theatrical works of Shakespeare. Applications and video auditions for the 2019 Ensembles will be open mid- December 2018.

Rehearsals take place on SUNDAYS during Term 1 and 2 of the 2019 school year:
TERM 1: Feb 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, March 3rd,10th, 17th, 24th, 31st, April 7th
TERM 2: May 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, June 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, July 7th

THE ROSE ENSEMBLE (Yrs 7 & 8) Sunday 10am – 1pm
The foundation ensemble will explore Shakespeare’s most famous monologues, soliloquies, sonnets and scenes. The Rose actors will have the opportunity to take the stage solo and in group scenes and perform Shakespeare’s most well-known and well-loved words. At the end of Term 2 there will be a showcase of the actors’ work for friends and family.

THE SWAN ENSEMBLE (Yrs 9 &10) Sundays 1pm – 4pm
The intermediate ensemble will go deep into exploring Shakespeare’s greatest scenes and plays throughout the two terms. The Fortune actors will delve into investigating, understanding and playing the greatest tragedies and comedies in the English language. There will be a performance at the end of Term 2, showcasing detailed scene-work from these famous plays.

THE FORTUNE ENSEMBLE (Yrs 11 & 12) Sundays 4pm – 7pm
The advanced ensemble will work intensively on a selected Shakespeare play over Term 1 and 2 with a performance at the end of Term 2. The young actors will have the opportunity to experience industry training in preparing for their role as well as gaining skills in thorough rehearsal preparation and processes. They will explore their acting craft as an ensemble working to share one of Shakespeare’s great stories. The end of Term 2 performance will be a raw, abridged and dynamic production of a Shakespeare play, showcasing the talent of these emerging performers.

TO APPLY: Please complete the following application form and send a video audition of you introducing yourself and performing a short Shakespeare monologue (maximum 3 minute video length in total). The video audition is used to help our tutors best tailor classes to challenge and extend our participants. We encouarge you to use Vimeo to upload your video and send a link.
