Outreach - helping inform schools about SNLP, encourage them to schedule PD, let them know about consultation services. (Without a monthly newsletter, this is really needed now.)
Communication - I can't do mass emails. So I need to get the mailing list distributed to volunteers who can receive an email and then forward it along. Simple, but you need to keep track of your mailing list (adding and deleting people)..
Fund raising (small) - encouraging schools (even if just your own) to donate to SNLP, or to do fundraising to afford its services.
Fund raising (large) - Doing the research to see if there is a person or organization that would like to make large donations to sustain the program. (You do the research, once you find anything that isn't a dead end you ask Julie for the information you need to proceed.)
Grant Writing - Researching available grants, completing the application (Again, once you find anything that isn't a dead end you work with Julie to proceed.)
Other Financial research - I keep hearing "maybe DESE would..." or other variations on "have you tried...." So I need others to look into these possibilities.
Legislative organizing - We will again seek state funding next year. Doing this involves organizing the information about the legislature, linking it to information about SNLP-involved schools, and then encouraging them to write at key moments in the process.
Writing - We don't currently have monthly newsletter because I can't write it. If others join in, we could restart it. Or you could write for the website's blog.
Website - Keeping it updated, and potentially helping make better use of it.
Steering - We have a Board of Directors, with the need for new members every summer (possibly earlier if someone needs to leave). So if you might be interested in that, it would be good to know who is in the wings for future vacancies. (The commitment is four Zoom meetings/yr, but also being actively interested.)
