Workshop: Approaching Family Disagreements with Skill- Holiday edition!

Spending time with family around the holidays can be nurturing, but why do tension and rupture always sneak their way into our gatherings? With much of our year spent in go-mode and apart from our loved ones, a lot can bubble up when we coalesce around the holidays. Unspoken tensions, longstanding narratives, and old wounds can lead to disagreements. These can feel overwhelming, unmanageable, and even painful- but they don't have to!

In this workshop, we’ll explore the question: how can we hold both the challenging and nurturing parts of our holiday family dynamics in the same palm? By exploring disagreement as something we can approach with skill and a generative mindset–rather than something to be avoided–we hope to bring a bit more ease and enjoyment to time spent with family around the holidays.

What to expect:
  • Small theoretical introduction from the facilitators

  • Unpacking 2 essential skills for approaching disagreement with family members

  • Discussion based on texts

  • Interactive peer-learning activity

Who this workshop is for: Anyone excited to explore family disagreements in a peer-learning context. We’ll cap the registrations at 15 people to maintain an intimate setting. **Please note that we will not be able to dive into any serious trauma/abuse/harm in the context of family dynamics, as we don't think that a 2 hour workshop can honor those topics.
