2026 EMAO Spring Conference Call for Presentations

Conference Date: March 19, 2026

Location: Byxbe Building, 1610 State Route 521, Delaware, Ohio 43015

The EMAO Education Committee is requesting proposals for the 2026 EMAO Spring Conference. Presenting at the conference allows others to benefit from your experience and makes a valuable contribution to the profession's field of knowledge. If you have experienced a challenging incident response, implemented a unique process that has benefitted any phase of an emergency, or created a collaboration of funding or organizations to accomplish strategies or projects, we are particularly interested in your expertise.

Due no later than December 31, 2025. We request no more than one proposal per presenter.

Notification on the status of submission will be sent by email directly to the proposing speaker no later than February 1, 2026.

Presenter Limitations: EMAO provides an opportunity for open dialogue and creative exchange of ideas among participants. Under no circumstances may this platform be used as a place for direct promotion of a speaker’s product or service. Any presenter who violates this policy jeopardizes his or her opportunity to present at future EMAO conferences.

Financial Support:  Please seek financial support from your individual organization. If you are self-funded or not covered by an employer, check the box on your submission and provide an estimate of travel expenses needing coverage in order for you to present. This is not a guarantee that expenses can be covered, but the committee will assess and may seek a sponsor, if costs are reasonable and warranted. The request for financial assistance does not impact the selection process.

PROPOSAL REVIEW. Members of the EMAO Education Committee will review all complete proposals.  Final selections and notification of acceptance will be sent no later than February 1, 2026.

The Selection Process. The Education Committee strives to offer a balanced program of educational sessions by selecting proposals that provide our attendees with information and resources to improve their effectiveness on the job.

Practical Application. Sessions that include lessons learned from actual incident responses, and practical, immediately applicable work tools will be given preference.

Proven Speaking Ability. The conference committee seeks experienced presenters with proven speaking ability. Those with a track record of speaking and performing well at large conferences will be given preference.
