Women in STEM
Wednesday July 5th, 2017 at 7.30pm. Free event with limited access, registration required.

In recent years the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—collectively known as STEM—have received much attention for their critical role in maintaining the competitive edge in the global economy. Women are highly underrepresented in STEM field professions and this problem is well documented by research. Although there have been several efforts to remedy this issue, men are still dominant forces in the STEM world. Girls and young women should certainly be encouraged to consider STEM courses and careers and further close the so-called gender gap. This cocktail aim to promote and support the gender equality in STEM, by making awareness of this issue, and by making visible and promote researchers and professionals in the field (or related field). The event will have two parts: a presentation and panel discussion on “Women in STEM” topic presented by several speakers; followed by a cocktail to promote networking and awareness of this important issue. Women and men are welcomed to the event.
