Roman Catholic Diocese of Columbus
150th Anniversary Tree Planting
Thank you for your interest in planting a tree or trees to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Columbus. We encourage you to join us in planting one tree to celebrate the anniversary. If you have space for a small grove, you could plant three to celebrate the Holy Trinity, six to celebrate the days of Creation, or 12 to celebrate the Apostles.

A list of recommended trees (and those to avoid) can be downloaded by clicking this link: You are encouraged to make a commitment to plant your tree(s) this year by filling out the digital form located toward the bottom of this web page before Sunday, April 22, 2018, when Bishop Campbell will celebrate mass recognizing the anniversary. Your actual tree planting can happen at a later date in the spring or fall at a time that is best for the type(s) of tree(s) that you are planting.

Please complete the web form below so that we can add your parish, school, or organization commitment to the list of locations participating. Your phone number and e-mail address are requested so that you can be contacted for a photo of the planting and blessing.

The Office of Divine Worship has provided a Blessing of a Tree that can be downloaded by clicking this link:

As of April 20, 2018, a total of 113 trees have been committed. An interactive map showcasing the sites can be viewed by clicking this link:
