2019 DMA Teen Ambassador Application
Thanks for your interest in joining the 2019 Teen Ambassador Program this summer at the Dallas Museum of Art!

The DMA Teen Ambassador program is an opportunity to actively get involved with your local arts community, practice valuable leadership and speaking skills, and meet new people. Teen Ambassadors are trained to give tours, host story-times for families, and lead art-making activities in our galleries. They are closely mentored by museum staff members, and have several opportunities during the summer to work on special projects that help us create new programs for teens and children. They also get perks with volunteering, like free parking in our garage, admission to special exhibits, and exclusive workshops and tours.

After completing a two day orientation, which will consist of informational sessions, hands-on gallery experiences, and role-playing exercises led by Museum staff, Teen Ambassadors will be prepared to lead gallery experiences and assist with DMA family programs.

You must meet the following requirements to apply for the Teen Ambassador Program:
- Be at least 14 years old and have completed the 8th grade or equivalent. Graduating seniors attending college in the Fall 2019 semester should not apply.
- Have a background and/or interest in visual arts, art making, and museums.
- Comfortable with engaging visitors of all ages and backgrounds, especially young children
- Must be able to commit to at least 24 hours over the course of the summer, up to a maximum of 40 hours.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the Dallas Museum of Art.
- Preference will be given to students living in Dallas attending DISD schools.

Please keep in mind that most shifts will be available Monday through Friday between 10:00am and 3:00pm. There are limited opportunities to volunteer during the evening or on weekends. Before applying, think about how being a Teen Ambassador would fit into your other summer commitments (summer school, vacations, jobs, etc.).
