2017 Public Art Application - Murals
April 1-15 UR4Africa and Meridian International Center will be working in collaboration with international and Nigerian artists to develop a mural around the themes PEACE & SECURITY with Public Art Nigeria students other organizational partners.
Public Art Nigeria, is an initiative of UR4Africa; a Pan-African space for media development and educational programming. We coordinate spaces for creative learning, provide opportunities for collaboration between the diaspora and Africa, and act as a media outlet that strives to develop unique African content. This program runs 3 times a year and space is limited.

APPLICANT: WE NEED 3 CREATIVE SAMPLES. PLEASE GIVE YOURSELF ENOUGH TIME TO WORK ON EACH SAMPLE AND COMPLETE THEM.
Please complete each creative sample using the themes "PEACE & SECURITY". You can use the back pages of the application. 1) DRAW A PORTRAIT, LANDSCAPE or ABSTRACT IMAGE. It can be a self portrait or a portrait of a person or pet. A landscape is a drawing of a type of scenery or place. Usually a building and its surroundings, a park, beach, a house, or your school. An abstract drawing is usually represented by symbols, colors, and shapes. REMEMBER THE IMAGES HAVE TO RELATE TO THE THEME PEACE & SECURITY 2) WRITE A SHORT STORY. Two paragraphs (10 sentences), this story should be a positive story about PEACE & SECURITY in your community. 3) DESIGN A POSTER. Think of what kind of poster you could create to teach people about the importance of PEACE & SECURITY in Nigeria and in Africa. There are no wrong answers here but we are looking to see that you took your time, used your skills and that you were being creative.
