CPI Hybrid Initial Training 12.7.17
This hybrid training is open to general education teachers, intervention specialist, paraprofessionals, administrators counselors, secretaries, and parents. Participants will be expected to complete the 2-4 hour online training prior to the face-to-face training. During the online portion of the class, participants will learn about the Developmental Model, Nonverbal Behavior, paraverbal Communication, Verbal Intervention, Precipitating Factors, Rational Detachment, Integrated Experience and Staff Fear and Anxiety. During the face-to-face training, participants will refine their knowledge of the online portion of the class. They will also learn CPI's Personal Safety Techniques, Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention and Postvention. Participants will demonstrate their understanding of each of these units on a written test, and participants will complete a skills assessment demonstrating their level of competence in keeping them self safe and completing the two restraints presented in the class.
