Skyline Writing Center New Tutor Application - 2020-2021
Thank you for your interest in joining the Writing Center team!
In order to be part of the Writing Center team next year, you'll need to complete this application fully by Friday, January 31, 2020, and you'll need to sit down with Mr. Austin and one of our Writing Center student leaders for a short interview starting the week of February 3, 2020. The interviews are informal and nothing to worry about! They are an opportunity to get to know you beyond your paper application and for you to ask questions about what it means to be a tutor.
By completing this application, you understand that:
1. You need to be in Mr. Austin's Skytime for the entire 2020-2021 school year (and for as long as you're in Writing Center).
2. You need at least one open space in at least one trimester next year to be able to tutor.
3. You need to be able to take a new Writing Center course--Radical Youth Literacies--sometime before you graduate. The course will be completely student-led and student-centered, and it will expand on the issues we discuss in training.
Talk with Mr. Austin or any current Writing Center tutor if you have questions!

In Writing Center, there are four (4) main beliefs about how we reduce opportunity gaps: we will multiply funds of knowledge, encourage growth mindset, share vulnerability with our peers, and engage in community engagement. If selected as a consultant, how will you uphold and further each of these core beliefs? Use what you know about Writing Center to assist you.
