The protest in September and following events, Nepal’s current situation and the response within the arts have, inevitably, made us rethink our work and priorities. Ultimately, we have decided to stop our international residency programs and explore different possibilities from now on. We are a culmination of collaborations, connections, and thoughts that believe in working with people from any place in this world, but for now, as we are physically shapeshifting, our minds are moving along and practices are changing.
Instead of continuing the structural format and dynamics between residency and resident, we want to explore exchange programs focusing on artists, cultural practitioners, and activists strongly opposing any inequalities with a strong focus on thinking and operating beyond identity politics, exploring transformative justice, and political & communal organising, by heart and in action. We want this to be a collaboration, a learning experience for each partner involved and something more than JUST ANOTHER ART RESIDENCY with a final solo exhibition.
Even though we shift towards this format, we are happy to offer space to rest, connect, and enjoy time to yourself without the commitment to a project when communicated transparently. If we can create a moment that will nurture your activism at home, we are grateful to be this space.

We are always open to applications from international creatives who want to spend a minimum of a month with us in our space and collaborate on a project based in Nepal. We offer living space, studios, connections, opportunities, and a great network that will support the residency artists in creating something very special.
Please complete this form so we can get to know you. Please inform us on Instagram about your application - we will contact you after we receive your submission!
This is a small reminder that these residencies are not fully funded, and we are unable to cover flights, stipend for the stay and other means of transport. We do not receive any institutional funding for these opportunities, so offering our exchanges for free is sadly not possible, but we can help you to apply for such support and ensure to accommodate different requirements and respect individual capacities!
