2024 EMC Bus Pass Request
EMC Bus Passes are provided to allow students who are required to catch the EMC to Pearcedale bus at 3:05pm, or the EMC to Skye bus at 3:07pm. Please note, the Pearcedale bus also has a 3:30pm service.

Students leaving class to  catch a bus is not desirable, as it creates interruptions for the class and surrounding classes, and means the student is missing a portion of their learning every day. A student leaving class every day 5 minutes early adds up to almost 3 full school days over the year. Where possible students should avoid needing a bus pass (eg. catching the Pearcedale 3:30pm bus instead of the 3:05pm).

The address which is current on Compass must match the suburb required to catch either of these buses. If Compass is not up to date, please contact the front office ASAP to do so.

Students who are issued a 2024 Bus Pass will be able to leave class at 2:55pm, no earlier, to allow them to get to their lockers first, and be at the EMC bus bay by 3:05pm. All students must remain on site at EMC until 3:00pm.

Bus passes are not issued for reasons other than the two buses stated above. For example, students can not leave school early to catch another bus off site, or leave school early to attend part time work or sport, or to pick up siblings from other locations, etcetera. If a family has siblings at another school (eg Langwarrin Park PS or Woodlands PS) which EMC siblings collect, please arrange with the other school to have supervision of their students until the EMC siblings arrive if it is beyond their after school yard duty times.

Please see the EMC Attendance Matters Policy for a more in depth explanation of the importance of students being in every scheduled class possible.

As a timely reminder, any person using PTV must tap their Myki card. PTV informed us last year that they monitored the bus services provided to EMC several times and noted a discrepancy between the number of people on the bus and the number recorded as tapping their Myki, and observed EMC students not tapping on.

After this form is submitted EMC will process your request as quickly as possible and inform you of the outcome. Students who are approved for a bus pass will have a flag on their Compass profile which teachers will be able to see on their rolls, making the leaving of class less disruptive.

Students who live in the Woodlands Estate who prefer the 3:05pm from the Skate Park on Cranbourne Road will not be issued a bus pass for this service. There are many other frequent bus services along Cranbourne Road which students can catch after leaving EMC at 3pm as timetabled. Stops include Potts Road, Woolworths, Quarry Road, Josephine St shops, from where students can walk home.

Students who live closer to Karingal or Frankston who prefer to catch the 2:53pm or 2:57pm bus from Warrandyte Road will not be issued a bus pass, as the same bus service also leaves at 3:09pm, with further services into the afternoon.

Thank-you for your understanding of this process, and for the support in ensuring students are in class as much as possible.
