The Mission Trails Regional Park (MTRP) Foundation invites high school students in San Diego County to participate in its free Eco Ambassadors program. Cohorts of 30 teen-aged nature enthusiasts will take part in learning sessions about different aspects of Mission Trails, environmental stewardship, and fields and careers related to nature and conservation. Participants will earn an Eco Ambassador Certificate at the conclusion of the program.
- Explore local ecosystems, learn monitoring techniques, and
collaborate on projects.
- Learn from experts in environmental fields and find out about career opportunities.
- This fall, the program will take place every Sunday, from October 5 through November 16, totaling to 6 days full of learning and exploration at Mission Trails.
- Please note that there have been many applicants for the program, so we encourage thorough and thoughtful responses.
- Applications for our Fall 2025 program close on September 14.
This free program is open to all students enrolled in San Diego County high schools. We encourage youth of color, LGBTQ+, and individuals of all abilities to apply. If individuals have any accommodation needs during the application process, or have questions about the program, please contact MTRP Foundation Education and Outreach Coordinator, Jonathan Serna, via email at jserna@mtrp.org.
