Michigan Alexander Graham Bell Summer Camp Award Program
The Michigan Chapter of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MI A.G. Bell) offers financial aid award to students, ages 8 to 18, (must be 8 years of age by June 2018) to participate in the MI A.G. Bell Summer Camp Program at YMCA STORER CAMPS in Jackson, Michigan.
*The child must reside in Michigan *The child must have a documented hearing loss and / or be enrolled in a Michigan education program with an IEP for students with hearing loss *The child must be able to participate fully independently and physically in an auditory / oral environment at camp * The child must be able to communicate using spoken language. Staffing and program activities make it necessary to accept only those campers who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing whose method of communication is through the use of spoken language. This is a fully mainstream camp experience. *The parents are required provide a recent copy of the child's audiogram (within one calendar year of start date of camp) A signed agreement / consent to contact the child's teacher, speech language pathologist, or audiologist must be submitted
