Get involved with NYSA! Join a committee!
Click here to learn more about NYSA's existing and potential new committees.
Various committees have different responsibilities and will require different levels of commitment. As a rule of thumb, most committee members should be able to devote at least a few hours per week, though we're pretty flexible. If you want to help any amount, we want to let you help. For many committees, there's room for you to take initiative and help shape what NYSA's work will look like in an area.
Looking for other ways to get involved?
- Keep an eye out for executive board nominations in early January.
- Want to volunteer but not commit to a committee? We will email the NYSA mailing list if those opportunities arise.
Committee members will:
- Join NYSA's discord server to communicate with fellow committee members and NYSA board
- Meet periodically (virtually or in person) to discuss committee goals and projects
- Coordinate with NYSA executive board on long term goals and NYSA's mission
