Parent Acknowledgment of Voluntary Suspension of FFC8 Guidelines (Walking or Riding A School Bus) *
FFC8 has safe walking and school bus riding guidelines for all students. If you live a greater distance from school than one mile for elementary students or one and one-half mile for all others, or if the Transportation Office determines there is no acceptable walking route, your child will be provided bus service. If your child rides the bus, it is expected that the child will use the assigned bus stop and ride the assigned bus to and from his or her home and the assigned school. If you have requested that your child be assigned to a different bus route or bus stop than the one assigned, or that your child will be walking a route evaluated by FFC8 as presenting unusual hazards, you are doing so with understanding that (1) FFC8 has evaluated your proposed transportation arrangements and/or walking route and determined that they do not comply with FFC8 walking and riding guidelines, (2) you are nevertheless requesting a suspension of FFC8 walking and riding guidelines for your child, (3) you will comply with any conditions imposed as part of the approval of your exception request, and (4) you are assuming complete responsibility for the safety of your child and releasing FFC8 from liability resulting from accident or injury to your child that may arise from the exception request.
