We are looking for individuals with knowledge, experience and ACCESS in housing marginalized people affectively, safely, and affordably.
Dedicated committee members and sponsors are crucial to the success of our transitional housing programs and our future permanent housing solution’s.
This committee will meet monthly to support SisTers PGH leadership in advancing our current transitional housing models, providing access to funding and supporting us in our future housing endeavors.
We are looking for those with experience & ACCESS to equity, so that we are able to continue to liberating our siblings through safe, affordable and accessible housing.
Mission:
The Home Equity Committee is dedicated to transitioning our members who have graduated from our Project T program into a place of permanent independence through home ownership. Our committee will aid members of our community through the entire home- buying process, from credit building to covering closing costs.
It is important to uplift our black and brown trans and nonbinary siblings. We deserve the freedom to own homes and have our own land. For years that opportunity was taken away from us and SisTers wants to put that liberation back into the hands of our community.
Values: Growth, creating sustainability, solidifying life long stability
Vision: To create long term independence for our trans and non binary siblings. Home ownership or access to housing shouldnt be a privilege. Black TGNC individuals deserve to own property and have a place to call home.
Impact: The Home Equity Committee will not only be creating stable housing for our community members but putting that independence into their own hands. There is an innate value in owning your own things and having access to property under one's own name is powerful.
