call for artists
The goal of the G.B.T.H. project is to reinforce the potential of Second Life as a creative platform in the art field. We do this by focusing on assisting, hosting and promoting 3D art exhibitions.

This application form is for anyone interested in developing an idea into an art installation. The residency program lasts 9 weeks total (roughly two months), occupying one of the four parcels designated for this purpose.
Like always at the G.B.T.H. project, there is no fee for the artist to participate of the residency program.

An installation art can be defined as a large-scale, mixed-media construction, often designed for a specific place or for a temporary period of time. The artist is encouraged to completely transform an empty platform into whatever their mind's guide them.

During this artistic residency, each artist divide the 9 weeks in half: the first half of the time will be used to assemble the exhibition and, the second, to have the work displayed and open to visitors.
The entrance for each installation is on the ground level, inserted on the sim's environment, and will contain information about the work, artist, instructions/proper WindLight (if any) and a teleporter to each platform.
For this program, all installations will be held in the sky for the simple fact it gives more creative freedom.

What is expected from you:

- An interest and great enthusiasm in your installation.
- The ability to keep to deadlines.
- Good communication skills when conveying your idea, during the set up and until your installation is up at the venue.
- Ability to work efficiently and create an installation you are proud of.
- Understand that the installation needs to be a 3D environment that transforms the space provided.
- Be creative.

What the G.B.T.H. project provides:

- One of the four parcels (6144m², with land capacity of 1800 prims) at our sim, where the installation will be built on a platform and then opened to the public once the set up is finished.
- Assistance with the assembly of your work.
- The graphic representation of your exhibition, promotion on our social networks, inworld art groups and a page on our website.

Please understand that completing this application means you already have an idea in mind and, therefore, can start working immediately if your proposal gets accepted.
Filling this application doesn't guarantee a spot in our residency program.
If your application gets accepted, you'll be contacted and your name and the opening date will be announced on the upcoming events panel. If by any chance you won't be able to comform to the deadlines, please inform us before the announcements and you'll be welcome to apply again once the time is convenient.

Due to availability and to focus on quality content of the work, two proposals will be selected every month.

Take your time to read and answer what is being asked. Incomplete forms won't be accepted.

Thank you for your interest and I can't wait to hear your ideas!
