Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are not first-come-first-served. All applicants will be required to complete a full assessment with a Housing Specialist over the phone.

Please note that applications for FUTURE rent will only be processed during the 10 days leading up to the month (i.e. February rent requests are processed starting January 21st). We request that you apply for current and past months only.

VEAP has multiple sources of funding for our rental assistance program with varying criteria and meeting the minimum eligibility guidelines does NOT guarantee rent assistance.

Households are eligible irrespective of immigration or documentation status.

The amount of assistance provided will depend on the individual needs of the household, taking into consideration other resources the household is eligible to receive.

Payments will be made directly to the rental property owner.

To be eligible, applicants must minimally meet all the following requirements:

• Live in VEAP's service area of South Minneapolis zip codes 55410, 55417, and 55419

• Applicants must meet program guidelines for income and expenses

• Have lost income (from employment, self-employment, or any other source) or had an unexpected expense that resulted in financial crisis

Applicants may only submit one application per household. Please do not submit multiple applications.
