Southwark "Borough of Sanctuary" Pledge
“We welcome refugees!”

As a resident/employee/student/group/organisation within Southwark, I recognise the positive contribution made to our communities by those coming to seek sanctuary in the UK, fleeing persecution, conflict, violence and disasters in their home countries.

I am/we are committed to Southwark being a place where those people are welcomed, included and given the opportunity to rebuild their lives.

I/we therefore support Southwark becoming a recognised "Borough of Sanctuary" as a partner of the national City of Sanctuary movement.

City of Sanctuary aims to create a network of towns and cities throughout the UK which are proud to be places of safety, and which fully include people seeking sanctuary in the life of their communities.
