For many designers and craftspeople, the chance to exhibit their best work and view the work of their colleagues is a highlight of the Conference. Unlike the Design Expo, in which participants enter one realized design to be judged for inclusion in TD&T, Cover the Walls offers designers an unadjudicated opportunity to showcase their work in any way they see fit, within the constraints of the panel size. The resulting exhibit is a joyous montage of professional and student designs, paper projects, crafts and more. We invite all theatre makers, designers, and crafts-persons to submit their creative work to be displayed at the USITT Northern Boundary Conference at Macalester College in St. Paul on October 5, 2024.
Cover the Walls exhibits will be juried by the current members (individual members) in attendance through a ranked ballot system. The top two displays will be named at the Fall Conference Closing meeting and Northern Boundary will underwrite the participants’ conference registration fees for the 2024 USITT National Conference in Columbus. While all members are welcome to display their work, only current full or part-time students in either undergraduate or graduate programs are eligible for the registration awards. Participants in Cover the Walls must be current Northern Boundary members and present at the Fall Conference.
Any scholarship recipient will be asked to attend the Northern Boundary Section meeting at the National Conference as well as sharing their USITT Conference experiences with the Section.
Submission registration deadline for Cover-the-walls will be September 27th @ 5pm.
