The Cloud Native Computing Foundation and The Linux Foundation are launching the all new Kubernetes and Cloud Security Associate (KCSA) program.
A Kubernetes and Cloud Security Associate is responsible for helping to design, implement, and maintain an organization's cloud native security infrastructure.
They may assist in the development of security policies and procedures, and help to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
They may also assist in the identification and assessment of security risks and vulnerabilities, and help to implement controls to mitigate those risks.
Additionally, they may assist in incident response and forensic investigations, as well as in the testing and monitoring of security systems. They may also help to educate and train employees on security best practices.
KCSA Skills include:
- Evaluate the security configuration of a Kubernetes cluster for compliance with security requirements
- Harden the security controls within a Kubernetes cluster
- Test and monitor the security of a Kubernetes cluster and associated technologies
- Assist in the identification and assessment of security risks and vulnerabilities
The KCSA is a designed for candidates interested in advancing to the professional level through a demonstrated understanding of foundational knowledge and skills of security technologies in the cloud native ecosystem.
- KCSA Beta is an online, remote-proctored, exam with ~125 multiple-choice questions. (After the Beta, the final PCA exam will be 60 questions).
- A passing score on the Beta will earn qualifying* candidates the KCSA certification badge.
- Final scores will not be available until KCSA is released for General Availability. (Please allow 30-60 days for Beta data to be evaluated.)
- The final KCSA exam will be available for purchase from the Linux Foundation by Q3 2023.
- Candidates will be prompted to complete a feedback survey once completing the Beta exam.*
- KCSA Beta invitations and exam seats availability is limited.
- KCSA Beta is expected to run in Q2 2023 (date TBD)
- You will be notified of your beta coupon via email when the beta is ready
- KCSA-BETA redemption codes are single use, non-transferable, and will only be valid during the beta testing period
*QUALIFICATIONS
- Beta Candidates must complete feedback survey to qualify for certification.
- Beta Candidates must receive a passing score.
- Candidates who participated in the exam development process may not qualify for certification badge.
