ATTENDANCE POLICIES - Company Members
When you register as a company member, your dancer is agreeing to accept all roles in which they are cast and to attend all rehearsals. Dance, and the rehearsal process, is a cumulative, kinesthetic experience with many moving parts. Rehearsal attendance is necessary to keep up with the progression of both the scene and the larger production. Dancers are allowed one absence (at any time other than production week) at no penalty, for academic, health, or personal reasons with no excuse needed. Missing more than one rehearsal, without prior permission, may result in the part being given to or shared with an understudy/alternate. Submission of attendance form is not confirmation of approval. This is per the Artistic Staff’s discretion and will be determined on a case by case basis.
ABSENCE: If you must miss a rehearsal for any reason, it is important to let CSB know as far in advance as possible so arrangements can be made ahead of time to prepare an understudy/alternate for rehearsal. Please submit advise of the absence through the Production Portal. Use this Reporting Form, to report absences or conflicts, planned and unplanned. For emergency, same day absences, please call CSB 303-772-1335 to leave a voicemail at the studio extension, and then complete the form at your earliest convenience.
ILLNESS: In order to keep the spread of illness to a minimum, please keep your student home if they are ill with fever and/or vomiting or anything that may be contagious, even if this means their part may be given to an alternate or understudy. Please do not have them return to rehearsals for at least 24 hours after the fever or vomiting stops, or the contagious stage is over. Illness spreads quickly through dancer communities as they are in close quarters for long periods of time, so please be courteous to everyone and let your performer recover.
- If your performer is not feeling well, for the health and safety of all, please review the parent portal for updated rehearsal videos.
INJURY: If your performer is injured and cannot dance for a short amount of time (as opposed to an injury that takes them out of the production), they should still attend rehearsal to watch so they will be able to pick up the choreography quickly when they are able to dance again. Please contact CSB Talent for further instructions about attendance in-person or via googlemeet.ATTENDANCE POLICIES - Students of the School
Attendance/Make-Ups
When a dancer needs to miss a class it is important that the school is aware. This helps us to ensure that all dancers are accounted for when they are supposed to be in our care. If a dancer needs to miss class due to illness, travel, emergency, weather, etc, they are welcome to schedule a make-up in a class of the same level or lower. Please email school@centennialstateballet.org to arrange the make-up, so the office can let faculty know.
