Diversity Fellowship Application
Alchemy Comedy Theater believes that everyone, regardless of race, age, gender, disability, or sexual orientation should experience the art of improvisation and the many life skills it helps develop in a safe, supportive way. We are actively working to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels of our institution and associated programming. Our goal is to open doors, create a bridge, and make improv comedy accessible and inclusive. We firmly believe that unique experiences and points of view are at the core of the art form our artists create and reflective of the audiences and students that we serve. It is because of this goal that Alchemy has created the Diversity Fellowship.
The Diversity Fellowship provides scholarships to Alchemy Comedy Theater Training Center students to increase access to improv classes to those excited and motivated students for whom money may be a barrier, and to encourage new and diverse voices to Alchemy’s vibrant community, particularly those of women, persons of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, differently-abled persons, active duty service members, and veterans.
Students are able to apply for scholarships for each level of Alchemy Training center courses, from Level 101 - 401. To qualify for The Diversity Fellowship, applicants must complete an application form by the noted deadlines. Fellowship winners are eligible to apply for a financial award for each course level, but must repeat the application process for each level. Financial award amounts will vary. Students of all experience levels are encouraged to apply. The fellowships are open to those who have never studied at Alchemy Comedy Theater Training Center, as well as to those who have partially completed the program.
