Get ready for something brand new! Kwame Alexander, poet, educator, New York Times bestselling author of 21 books, and recipient of the 2015 Newbery Medal, is bringing his amazing energy, his terrific writing, and his ‘rock star’ Versify Tour to Philadelphia on April 5. Kwame has a new publishing imprint called Versify that he hopes will “electrify, edify, and exemplify the wonders and woes of childhood” through new books, new ideas, and new contributors. Kwame and his authors and illustrators will provide a performance unlike any other you’ve seen after which they will sign their books. Come and meet:

Kadir Nelson, award-winning illustrator who has just illustrated Kwame’s poem-turned-picture-book called "The Undefeated about the sacrifices and triumphs of African-Americans."

Lamar Giles, author of adult and teen books, who will share "The Last Last-Day-Of-Summer," a middle-grade modern day Phantom Tollbooth.

Raul the Third, author and illustrator who will introduce "¡Vamos! Let’s Go To the Market," the first in a new series of bilingual picture books.

Kip Wilson, YARN Poetry Editor, who will introduce "White Rose," her young adult novel in verse about the true story of Nazi resistance leader Sophie Scholl.
