Thank you for participating in our Hell's Kitchen Commons Food Scrap Drop Off. Food scraps collected at Mathews Palmer Park (45th between 9th/10th Ave) are picked up by our partners at The LES Ecology Center. Finished compost can then be applied to our green spaces. Our food scraps are being used to rebuild NYC’s soil!

Drop-off is currently available during the park's open hours. We ask that everyone be part of the team to prevent contamination and ensure the area remains clean. Participants must follow the below guidelines for what to contribute -- and we also ask you to make sure the bin lids remain closed and that the area remains tidy. Please note: we accept food waste from households only. NO businesses or other commercial generators may drop off.

1. Visit our collection bin on the 45th Street side of the park
2. Lift lid
3. Drop your food scraps in the bin.
4.If using a bag that is *certified biodegradable, you must cut it open. Please know reusable containers or bags are preferable.
5. Please remove any stickers, rubber bands, twisties, plastic, etc.
6. Place any trash or recycling in appropriate bins around the corner.
7. Make sure the lid is securely closed.
8. Enjoy your day!
