THE CHAISE PROJECT
CHAISE is a transnational activity, funded by the by the European Commission, to set forward a sectoral approach on Blockchain Skills Development. CHAISE, as a Sector Skills Alliance, will formulate and deliver a European strategy to address skill mismatches and shortages in the Blockchain Sector and deliver appropriate and future-focused training, qualifications, and mobility solutions, geared to sectoral realities, and needs. PURPOSE OF THE SURVEY
The aim of the survey is to validate the project’s forecasting results for Blockchain skills demand and supply as forecasted in 2022.

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE?
-Organisations having incorporated or planning to incorporate Blockchain/DLT in their operations and retain or are in need of staff with relevant skills.
-Sector representatives and social partners
-Academics and researchers
-Experienced IT professionals
-Tech journalists and field experts
In all cases, survey participants need to have a good understanding of Blockchain/DLT and be aware of internal (organisational) realities

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
The survey is divided into clear subsections. It will not take more than 5 minutes to complete the questionnaire.

Question 1: From the mapping of Blockchain jobs to occupational categories we find that the majority of Blockchain jobs can be placed in the following three ISCO categories: Software and Applications Developers and Analysts (58.5% of EU Blockchain jobs); Information and Communications Technology Services Managers (20.9% of EU Blockchain jobs); and Business Services and Administration Managers (6.8% of EU Blockchain jobs).

Question 2: Our preliminary Blockchain skills demand forecasting results indicate approximately 29,000 new blockchain jobs will be created from 2021 to 2026 period across Europe.

Question 3: The forecasting results suggest that approximately 45% or 13,000 of new Blockchain jobs from 2021 to 2026 will be entry level or offered to new graduates.

Question 5:  Preliminary Blockchain skills supply forecasting results indicate that approximately 25,500 new Blockchain graduates will be available from 2021 to 2026 across Europe.

Question 6:  We observe a compositional change in the forecasted Blockchain labour market from 2021 to 2026 when compared to the last year’s forecasts. We estimate an increase the proportion of Blockchain-related employment in ICT Services Managers, Business Services and Administration Managers, and Legal Professionals occupations, and a decrease in Software and Applications Developers and Analysts, and Database and Network Professional occupations.
