INITIAL NOMINATION:  2023-2024 AEM ART EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARDS  

Do you know an outstanding art educator or art advocate?  It is time to nominate them for an outstanding award and provide them the recognition they deserve!  

Use this INITIAL NOMINATION BALLOT to provide preliminary contact information and a brief description why you feel this person deserves the selected award.  DEADLINE for INITIAL NOMINATION: May 19th

*You are welcome to nominate as many individuals as you wish.   Please fill out a form for each nomination.

Categories include:
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Awarded to a teacher in first 3 years of teaching. Candidate must show evidence of supporting state and national art education initiatives, demonstrate effectiveness in the classroom and in the school community, and show leadership and commitment to the art education field.

DIVISIONAL ART EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR:  Division Awards Awarded to a AEM member from each division who  significantly contributed to the individual's division in art education. 

Divisions include: Elementary, Middle, Secondary, Higher Education, K-12, Museum Education, Service within Profession, Administration and Emeritus on the local, state and/or national levels

MINNESOTA ART EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR: Selected from the award winners from each division this year. This award is recognized both at state and National level.

*A candidate may be nominated in more than one category if professional career demonstrates specified qualifications.

Each NOMINEE will be notified after judging in May to complete final paperwork to include:
  • Awards questionnaire (Document sent to candidate)
  • At least 1 Letter of recommendation
  • High quality jpeg image due August 1st.
