Spring 2024 CBRS Volunteer Form
Greetings!
Thank you so much for your interest in helping us our semesterly Interact Stayover! Interact Stayover is the biggest event hosted by Interact Committee. We invite Interactors from surrounding areas and provide a fun learning environment here at Cal. We will hold various workshops, service events, and panels to educate future college students on the importance of service, teach necessary leadership skills, and encourage meaningful friendships. We need your dedication, passion for service, and wisdom in order to make this event as successful as possible. During this TWO DAY event, Rotaractors facilitate various activities, panels and workshops at Cal in order to promote higher education and a commitment for service beyond high school.
The Spring 2024 Stayover will be Saturday, April 6th to Sunday, April 7th.
This event takes a village to run! We are looking for group leaders, housers, and general volunteers to help run the event! Further details and descriptions of each task are provided on each form!
1. Housers: Since this event is a stayover, the Cal Rotaract Interact Committee is asking for your help housing these high school students! If you are available to house the night of April 6th, please help us make this a great stayover by filling this form out. Due to the new Youth Protection Certificate process required of participating Rotaractors, priority will be given to housers who can host 2+ attendees.
2. Group Leaders: Lead a group of Interactors through the weekend. You will lead the group with 2 other Rotaractors! As a group leader, there are required events you must attend (listed in the form). This is a great role to foster close connections and bonds with the Interactors. Provide advice, guidance, and support to Interactors at the event and beyond!
3. General Volunteers: We need all the help we can get behind the scenes! Roles include luggage duty, set up, greeters, workshop/panel speakers, accompanying Interactors at activities throughout the weekend, etc.. Further details and shift times are outlined in the form!
This event will allow you to become an inspirational role model to a diverse group of teenagers who are passionate about service. As this is an event aimed towards the education and growth of high schoolers, we do expect you to:
-Be respectful, kind, and patient
-Act as a representative of both Cal Rotaract and UC Berkeley
-Be flexible, Stayover can have various smaller changes arise
-Be committed to your group and fellow leaders
-HAVE FUN :D
For housers, this application is due by Friday, March 1st at 11:59PM. For volunteers, this is a rolling application. Feel free to submit multiple times if you want to only apply as a group leader first! (New group leaders/housers will need to get vetted for youth certification under Rotary in order to work with minors.)
Yours in service,
Talia Nguyen, Ella Frank, and Clarissa Wong
