Red Fox Healthy Living Society and Environmental Youth Alliance invite you to join our Seed Generation outdoor program, while joining a dedicated group of like-minded youth supporting nature and wildlife in Vancouver!

Get hands-on experience growing native plants and restoring habitat in Strathcona Park and Still Creek. Meet new people and have fun adventures in nature.

Enjoy weekly recreation outings biking, canoeing and hiking at Stanley Park, Lynn Canyon and many other great park locations. Help lead active play programs for children at local parks.

Youth participating in this 3 month program will gain volunteer service hours they can count as high school credits.

This free 3 month program is open to youth aged 15-19.

The government is slowly allowing the public to return to everyday activities with certain conditions. Red Fox and EYA is committed to keeping your children safe and we are following all recommended guidelines from the BC Health Authority.

In-person outdoor programs beginning June 14, 2020 with the following health and safety measures in place:

* 2-metre physical distancing at all times
* face masks (provided by Red Fox & EYA)
* no sharing of gloves or tools
* free snacks and lunch, pre-packaged individual meals purchased from a local restaurant
* smaller group sizes, and outdoor garden programming


Dates:

Cohort 1: June 14th - September 13th, 2020
Cohort 2: September 12th - December 12th, 2020

2 Groups of 8 Youth

Garden Sessions: Saturdays 11:00am - 3:00pm
Recreation Outings: Wednesdays 4:00pm - 7:00pm


Certificate of Completion for 120 Service Hours

Youth aged 15-19
Indigenous and Non-Indigenous youth
New immigrant youth
Youth with disabilities
LGBTQ2 youth

Youth Will:

Connect with Knowledge keepers and Elders
Garden and grow food
Develop leadership skills
Learn about Traditional plant use
Enjoy weekly recreation outings
