*NOTE: The First VP will notify Chair, Co-Chair and Committee volunteers of their assignments. The PTA will send out sign-up sheets for General Volunteers closer to event dates. Room Parent sign-ups will also be sent separately.

EVENTS
PTA Events (not intended to generate funds)
Halloween Play
Date: Wednesday, October 31st– Duties: Select a Halloween themed play and organize parents to perform for the students.
Snowball Dance
Date: TBD (Friday, Feb 1st or 8th) – Duties: Send invitations, plan decorations and DJ/music. Organize volunteers.
Talent Show
Date: Rehearsal Wednesday, March 6th and Show Thursday, March 7th – Duties: Approve student acts and music. Collect student permission slips. Organize final rehearsal and show. (Students prepare and rehearse acts on their own time.)
Aquatic Night
Date: TBD (Saturday, March 2nd or 9th: date subject to pool availability) – Duties: Reserve the Oak Brook Aquatic Center for Family Aquatic Night. Plan and purchase snacks.
Staff Appreciation Week
Date: May 6th- 10th – Duties: Plan school decorations, treats, etc. for teachers and staff throughout the week. Plan staff luncheon. Organize volunteers.
Field Day
Date: Wednesday, June 5th – Duties: Work with Chair to plan game stations, set rotation schedule for student teams and organize volunteers.

Rainbow Run/Family Fun Night
Date: TDB (Friday, Sept. 14th or 21st) – Duties: Committee members will be split into the duties listed below.
Bake Sale
Duties: Bake sales will be held on election days. Request cash box from treasurer. Setup and decorate table in front of library the day before sale. Set prices for baked goods. Return cash box and deposit slip to treasurer.
Scholastic Book Fair
Date: November 15, 16, 19 – Duties: Coordinate setup of books. Organize volunteers.
Hot Lunch
Date: Ongoing, once a month – Duties: Plan, order and serve participating students a hot lunch. Organize volunteers.
Box Tops
Date: Ongoing – Duties: Collect and submit Box Tops. Post progress of collections. Create/plan incentives for students (pizza party, etc – to be approved by Ms. Gorman)
PTA Sponsored Classes
Date: Ongoing – Duties: Work with PTA Board to determine classes, dates and find/hire instructors, if necessary (instructors must supply background checks and sign a contract with the PTA).
Spa Day
Date: TBD Winter Date – Duties: Contact Brennan Spa in the fall to coordinate a spa day during the winter. Plan/purchase snacks for participants. *Brennan Spa will organize signup and collect fees.

Holiday Ornaments
Dates: November/December – Duties: Parents/guardians make ornaments for all Blythe students, teachers and staff. – Find or create a design for the annual holiday ornament (to be approved by the PTA Board). Organize and schedule ornament making days with adult volunteers. Have ornaments ready for distribution to students before Winter Break. Approximately 250 ornaments (one foe each student, teacher and staff member – Early Learners through 5th Grade).
Kindergarten
Dates: Summer 2018 and August 23rd at 2pm – Duties: Park Playdates (summer) – Schedule playdates at Blythe playground for incoming Kindergarten students to get to know each other before school begins. Kindergarten Meet and Greet (Aug. 23rd, 2pm) – Arrange snacks and goodie bags for "meet and greet" on first day of school.
Bulldog Yearbook (K-5th Grade)
Date: Ongoing – Help keep the tradition of this unique yearbook going! The current Chair will be leaving after next year and would like to train replacements during the 2018-19 school year. The project has been divided into several smaller duties.You do not have to have a 4th or 5th grade student. Questions? Contact Amy Wysocki at awysocki1@hotmail.com
Bulldog Yearbook (Early Learner)
Date: Spring – The current Chair will be leaving after next year and would like to train replacements during the 2018-19 school year. This small booklet is approx. 24 pages, 5.5"x8.5". Duties: Take class group photos and collect candid photos from teachers/parents. Create yearbook using desktop publishing software (such as Publisher or Pages). PTA Reflections Program
Date: November – Duties: This is a PTA sponsored art contest where students create original artwork on their own time in one of six categories. Promote and encourage students to participate in this program. Collect and then submit student artwork to the District for judging. Order and award participation ribbons. Six Flags – Reading Incentive Program
Date: Dec-Feb – Duties: Collect and submit reading logs for students to earn a free admission ticket to Six Flags Great America. Distribute tickets to students.
Raging Waves – Fitness Incentive Program
Date: Feb-April – Duties: Collect and submit fitness logs for students to earn a free admission ticket to Raging Waves Waterpark. Distribute tickets to students.
Fun Lunch
Date: TBD (possibly Feb. 9th) – Duties: The PTA makes and serves all students lunch at no cost to their families. Plan menu (for entire school), theme and decorations for the gym. Organize volunteers to set-up and decorate the gym, make lunch, serve lunch and clean up after the event.
Fourth Grade
Quilt – Chair will provide supplies to fourth grade teacher. Responsible for having the quilt finished. Directory Art – Chair will provide supplies to fourth grade teacher. Collect finished artwork and submit to PTA Board.
Fifth Grade
Safety Patrol Snacks – Work with teacher/staff safety patrol coordinators to schedule snacks/pizza party for safety patrol students. Games Night Reps (2) – Go to Games Night meeting, organize games night snack for Blythe 5th grade students, bring stacking cup game to Hauser on games night. Games Night T-Shirts – Coordinate design and order t-shirts for Blythe 5th grade students in time for Games Night. ***Games Night is a district-wide event at Hauser for all 5th Grade students in April (date TBD) from 5:30pm-8:30pm
