Please read below for descriptions of the available teams/roles:
Buddies: Each guest is required to be accompanied by a buddy who will provide companionship, and general assistance needed during the event. Buddies play a crucial role in making Night to Shine a success. ** PLEASE NOTE: Being a buddy is fun, but also a very serious commitment. For this volunteer role, dress-code is formal attire.
Decorating/Set-up: This team will not stay for the event. This team will help set up chairs, tablecloths, and decorations beginning the day before & day of the event (Thursday-Friday). Time is TBD. You can sign up for an additional team if you would like to attend Night to Shine.
Food Service Team: Volunteers will arrive early afternoon to help set up food and serve food to volunteers from 4:00-5:00 PM, then serve food to special guests from 6:00 - 8:00pm. Volunteers will plate food and help clean up eating areas between guests.
Caregiver Hospitality: This event is specifically for the parents/caregivers of our guests. It takes place during the prom. Volunteers are needed to assist with greeting, serving, praying for and loving on each person who attends.
Parking & Cart Shuttle: Our Parking Lot team directs traffic and supports our valet team throughout the evening. They are often the very first impression when guests arrive on campus, and make sure that everyone has a friendly, safe, and orderly welcome & departure! Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
Guest Services: This team will consist of various roles including greeters, ushers, coat check and limousine aides. For this volunteer role, dress-code is formal attire.
Royalty Team: Volunteers will serve in various roles with the purpose of making all our guests feel like kings & queens. Areas include make up, hairstyle and shoeshine rooms, flower shop, formal photos and other royalties.
Entertainment Team: Volunteers will help our special guests along with their buddies to enjoy special activity stations that include karaoke, silent disco, photo booths and more. Volunteers will tidy and clean up the space throughout the night.
Paparazzi Team: Get ready to create an unforgettable red carpet experience for our guests! Leading up to the prom, the Paparazzi Team will create fun, encouraging signs. Then, they'll welcome guests on the night of the event by waving, clapping, cheering, and holding those signs as guests arrive. Please note that volunteers on this team will not have access inside the building. Volunteers ages 10–15 are invited to participate with a completed parent permission slip. Volunteers younger than 10 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Clean Up Crew: Volunteers will help breakdown the event and reset all event areas to be ready for Sunday.
