To empower the next generation of sustainable business leaders, enable them to attend VERGE 19 and ensure that the sustainability field includes voices from diverse backgrounds, we're thrilled to again offer the Emerging Leaders Scholarship, sponsored by United Airlines.
We define diversity broadly, including gender identification and race, for instance, but also those who have faced socioeconomic or other barriers to achieving their goals.
Selected VERGE 19 Emerging Leaders will receive a complimentary pass to attend the full conference, along with special opportunities at the event — exclusive to Emerging Leaders. The scholarship covers registration fees, airfare and lodging.
The scholarship is limited to 10 recipients, to be selected solely by GreenBiz Group.
To apply, applicants must:- Currently reside in the United States or Canada- Demonstrate financial need- Be enrolled at an accredited college or university as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student (of any age)- OR be an early-career professional (age 21-29 at the time of the event)- Commit to attending all three days of VERGE 19 in Oakland, CA, October 22-24, 2019- Feel comfortable speaking for up to one minute on the VERGE 19 keynote stage in front of hundreds of sustainable business leaders- Following the event, submit a short 100-250 word testimonial about the experience, to be featured in a wrap-up article on GreenBiz.com
Applications will be accepted through Friday, September 13. Accepted scholars will be notified by Friday, September 20.
