The Early Career Network is a new representative branch for all

postgraduate, postdoctoral and early career members of the organisation. In contrast to

the previous 'Postgraduate Network', the ECN aspires to protect the interests and promote the

needs of all early career researchers, who share in the precarious character of a life entering


With a focus on strengthening academic networks across career stages, investment in the

educational and early career pipeline, reduction of financial barriers, a push on equality and

diversity, and a general aim to promote the status of early career researchers and their work, the

ECN exists for your benefit. The ECN committee is keen to be as responsive as possible to the

needs of our members and wants to hear from you at this inception stage of the ECN's
