All in-person SciTech field trips take place at the Rita Rossi Colwell Center (formerly the Columbus Center), located at 701 E. Pratt St in Baltimore. 

During the trip, students will participate in a 3-hour, self-contained lab experience lead by our instructors. All of our laboratory activities are aligned with the Maryland State Science standards (based on the Next Generation Science Standards). Each activity is based on real-world problems and issues, allowing students to engage in scientific and engineering practices while learning content in new and challenging ways. We currently have grant funding to waive field trip fees for schools that qualify. Please reach out to Annemarie for details.

Field Trip Fees
Our fee for in-person SciTech Field Trips is $12/student.  There is no fee for teachers or chaperones.  

Student fees will be waived for Maryland public and charter schools in underserved communities (at least 50% of students receive Free and Reduced Meals) and those that serve students traditionally underrepresented in STEM (at least 50% of students identify as African American and/or Hispanic).

Your school is responsible for providing transportation to and from the Colwell Center (701 E Pratt St) for your field trip. Please make sure to arrange a bus as soon as possible as there have been issues with bus availability.

We often give students a 30-minute break for lunch or snacks during labs. Students will need to bring their own lunches, as they will not be able to buy food on site. Will your students need a lunch break? *
