Conditions for Community
The NHS North West Leadership Academy (NHS NWLA) has commissioned Sea Salt Learning, with support from North West Employers, to help explore the conditions required for communities to thrive and work across boundaries with the ultimate aim of improving the health and wellbeing of our citizens.

Sea Salt Learning is a global organisation specialising in learning community development, social learning and social leadership, based on the writing of Julian Stodd. We take an evidence based approach to creating conditions for community, based on Julian's 16 principles.

North West Employers are a not for profit organisation that exists to help organisations deliver better outcomes with and for local people. All 41 local authorities in the North West, together with many of the fire and rescue services, police and crime commissioners’ offices and joint boards, are members.

We are interested in hearing your stories, learning from you and understanding the conditions that enable you to connect, collaborate, co-create – however you think about working together. This survey will ask you about how you might already be using communities to sense make your everyday reality, and how you use storytelling and technology to do so, or even if you do. We want to know what is important to you, and the enablers and barriers to harnessing the wisdom of those around you. Your honest answers in this work are gratefully appreciated.
