We are excited to announce that The Different Games Collective (DGC) has been chosen to participate in the 2018 Game Developers Conference (GDC) Scholars Program! We’d like to share this opportunity with individuals, organizations and institutions that will help support Different Games Collective’s mission of fostering diversity and inclusivity in games and games culture. GDC 2018 runs March 19-23rd in San Francisco.
If you are an individual interested in being an ambassador or applying on behalf of a group who would like to participate in the program, please submit your application via this form.
The Different Games @ GDC 2018 Ambassadors Program includes passes to the conference and summits, which will allow you to attend the conference as well as a packed program of professional talks and workshops. But that’s not all! our 2018 Ambassadors will also join us for a half-day mini conference on Sunday, March 18th, the day before GDC starts. Here you can network with your fellow ambassadors as well as with industry guest speakers and professional mentors. Ambassadors will also be invited to deliver micro-talks on their work or interests as a way to gain speaking experience in a supportive environment and Different Games Collective member and resident photographer EMi Spicer will be on hand to capture free professional headshots ambassadors can use for future speaking opportunities or professional websites.
Applications are due on or before December 28th and recipients will be announced by mid to late January. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Badges will be distributed based on applicant's need, alignment with Different Games Collective values, commitment to diversity and inclusion, and previous participation.
