QUESTIONNAIRE ON INVESTMENTS IN PROTECTED AREAS
In 1993 the World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) and the University of Cambridge conducted the first global assessment of spending in protected areas. That survey and related publications have since been used in over 3,000 studies and policy documents, but never updated. Now the International Institute for Sustainability (IIS) joins UNEP-WCMC and Cambridge University to repeat this exercise, with support from the Convention on Biological Diversity. The goal is to provide up-to-date evidence to support research, policies and practice related to protected areas. Your contribution is vital to achieve this goal, and greatly appreciated.

Please complete this questionnaire, even if you do not have answers to all questions (in which case, please write "not available”). If you can, please include a copy of your annual report or other documents providing information on your country’s protected area budget for the current and/or previous financial years. If the information exists but has not been compiled in an appropriate form, we would be happy to help with the necessary processing, and to keep the data confidential if you wish (in which case, please tick the box below). Please provide relevant documentation (spreadsheets, reports, etc) via email (ipa@iis-rio.org) and provide contact details. Please do not hesitate to contact us in case you have any doubts. Thank you for your collaboration.
