2026 Meredith Moody Artist Purchase Program with Sydney Mieko King
Each year, SCMA purchases a work by a female-identifying photographer who was awarded a Meredith S. Moody Artist Residency at Yaddo, an artist's retreat in Saratoga Springs, New York.  This year's program will be with Sydney Mieko King.

A required Prep/Info session will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 4:15-6 p.m. (snacks included!). 

During this session, participants will learn more about the history of the Moody Artist Purchase Program, SCMA's collecting goals, how SCMA curators work with artists and make decisions on what to add to SCMA's collection.  

The Purchase Program will be held at SCMA on Thursday, October 29, 2026 from 4:15-6 p.m..  During the program,  students meet with the artist where they learn about her work, view and discuss available artworks, and make a final decision on one work to be purchased by SCMA.  The decision on which work to purchase is made only by the student participants.  A dinner will follow the program in the Brown Fine Arts Center Atrium.

Attendance at both the Prep/Info Session and the Purchase Program is required. Dinner attendance is not required.
