Closing Checklist - Plano
Complete the following tasks BEFORE leaving the store for the day. Some items on this list may be done before the store actually closes providing the store is quiet. REMEMBER THE CUSTOMER COMES FIRST.

Please remember your shift goes for a half hour after our closing time to allow for these tasks to be done and for any straggling customers. There is no excuses for items not getting done if it is still before your shift time is up. You may leave early ONLY IF all of the items on this list are done.

Put your name in the box if you completed the task. Please note these responses are recorded and an email sent to the managers with the responses. You are held accountable for the tasks you put your name on.

Straighten and fill in all merchandise on all fixtures *
Touch Everything. Check ALL displays. Make sure all displays in the front windows are neat and tidy. THIS IS IMPORTANT as people have our front windows as their first impression. Walk this one last time before closing up.

Make sure that all the displays facing the window look good. Go outside and walk the windows to make sure the store looks good for passerbys. Make sure the toy display looks good. Toddlers will rearrange this during the day.

Make sure the pants are all sorted by size and folded neatly. Make sure the racks are all neat and things are in the right size slots.

Fresh bags are under the sinks in all rooms. Fresh shopping bags for the office smaller cans are in the bottom drawer under the kitchen counter.

Please do not leave this overnight. It can stink! And ROACHES love it! Please note our dumpster is behind Covinos in the back corner. DO NOT USE the one in front of the store. That is a different landlord. We will get in trouble if we use that one.

Time to do the cash drawer.
Make sure all sales receipts have a printed out copy *
Reprint those sales receipts that do not have a copy. You do not need to print website sales.

Sort by receipt number. First receipt of the day at the top of the stack.

Close the Lightspeed Register *
Do this by clicking on Sales in the top left. And click on the close register button. You are prompted to indicate how much cash you have in your till. Enter the quantity of each denomination you have in the cash fields. Only count the bills, we do not count the coins. Now you need to hit two buttons. One to submit the count and then one to save it. Before you save it, make sure there is not a cash discrepancy. Please make sure the top right hand number is not off by more than $5. PRINT THE RECEIPT and place it in the cash bag for the day.

What was your total COUNT of cash on the Register Count receipt. This is the number on the top row in the CENTER. Take that number and take away $50. That final amount is what you are putting in the cash bag for bank deposit. Leave $50 in the till and place the balance into the cash bag.
