Sprint 1Million Project
The 1Million Project is a bold mission to provide 1 million mobile devices and high-speed internet access to one million high school students across America who do not have reliable internet access at home. Your child may be eligible to participate in the 1Million Project (
) through their high school. Success in high school today requires reliable 24/7 Internet access in order to complete homework assignments, communicate with teachers online, look-up information for research papers, and much more. The 1Million Project will provide the connectivity your child needs in order to succeed in school by offering a free wireless device and 3GB per month of free internet connectivity during the time they are in high school.
Here is a breakdown of the benefits from the program:
Free device (smartphone, tablet, or hotspot) New Haven Public Schools will receive tablets for this go around.
Free hotspot capability on all devices
Filter Internet access in compliance with Children’s Internet Protection (CIPA)
Wireless service up to three or four years (depending on grade level).
It will the student’s responsibility to replace device if lost, stolen or damage. Replacement devices will be available at a special price either to the student. The replacement device can vary between $65 and $180 depending on the type of device.
