2019 Senior Commencement Speaker and Wendell Phillips Award Nomination Form
Each year, one graduating senior at Tufts is chosen to be the Senior Commencement Speaker, and the speech takes place during the Baccalaureate Service on the day before Commencement. Faculty, staff, and students may nominate seniors to apply for this honor, called the Wendell Phillips Award, and seniors many self-nominate. Any nominations received after Wednesday, November 7 at 5 p.m. will not be accepted.

All nominated students will be informed in mid-November and will be invited to submit an application by Tuesday, January 22, 2019, including a letter of application, a resume of leadership and service activities, and a recorded speech.

Applications will be reviewed by the Committee on Student Life (CSL), and the CSL will invite three finalists to present brief speeches at an open forum on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at noon in Goddard Chapel. The CSL will then select the winner.

To nominate a Tufts senior student, or to self-nominate, please complete the form below.
