Mental Health First Aid Training
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges.  This training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use challenge or in a crisis and help connect them to the appropriate care. The training will be provided at no cost to you.

The Mississippi Department of Mental Health offers: 
- Youth Mental Health First Aid
- Adult Mental Health First Aid
- Public Safety Mental Health First Aid 

TRAINING OPTIONS:
• BLENDED LEARNING(online and instructor led zoom or in-person):  After completing a 2-hour, self-paced online course, participants will participate in a 4.5 to 5.5-hour  instructor led class in-person or through zoom for the virtual option. 

• IN-PERSON (completely in person instructor led course (will have to register and do evaluation online)): Participants will receive their training as an 6.5 hour Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor-led, in-person course or a 7.5 hour Adult Mental Health First Aid instructor led course.
