Vivian seems cool. So you trust her. You clean up and go to bed. It is hard to settle in a house that you have never been in. You are lucky there are a few classics on the bookshelf. You grab a Jane Austen Novel and start reading. It calms your nerves and you finally fall asleep.

You wake up to a note under the door asking you to head to the kitchen for breakfast. There is a little map on the back of the note and the kitchen is circled and a little x marked you are here. This is very thoughtful, you think. You head to the kitchen and see there is a woman waiting for you. She tells you she is the cook and will be happy to make you breakfast. You tell her thank you and order some waffles.

These are the best waffles you have ever eaten. You are told you can head to the library or the pool but not to wander off since there are some dangerous parts of the house.

You go to the library and get lost in books when you hear someone come in behind you. It is Vivian.

She smiles at you and tells you “I am glad you are finding your place here. You can stay as long as you want. You are under my protection here. It is not very safe in this city for humans who do not have the protection of one of the great houses.”

You ask her “What are the great houses?”

She smiles “Fangs which I am sure you know are vampires, wolves which are werewolves, hats which are witches reds which are demons and then there are the grays which are mixes of different paranormal beings.”

You nod. “You are a vampire.”

Vivian nods. “I knew you had figured that out pretty quickly. You seem smart.”

You nod. “It was on the door too. Fangs at least.”

Vivian chuckles and asks “Do you need anything? I want you to be comfortable here. “

You look at her and ask “Why would you protect a human you do not know? I am sorry that came out of nowhere.”

She turns away and then peers back at you and says “I know this seems strange but I feel like I do know you. Like I have known you all my life. I hope you do not think I say this to all the humans I meet. I don’t. I am also going to say I have heard someone else talking about this ‘Game show’ you have talked about before. I have a friend who found a human woman much like I found you and she needs help. He fell in love with her and they are very happy together. I thought it was odd but then I found you and it just seems right. You just seem right. I like having you here. I am not going to push you in any way but I want you to know I will protect you with my life.”
